Export to NDOR

Noble

Let's examine how to export data from RigFlow and import it into the NDOR (TourNet) system. This process ensures that operational activities recorded in RigFlow are efficiently transferred to NDOR, minimizing the need for double reporting and reducing the risk of errors.

How it looks

In RigFlow, a NDOR report column has been added to the Operation Log, allowing users to select relevant Class codes, Time codes, and Crew information directly within the system. This setup is designed to streamline the process of exporting data for NDOR import, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Step-by-step instructions

Add NDOR codes in RigFlow

  1. Navigate to the Operation Log: Go to the Right sidebar and open to the Operation Log App Operation Log.

  2. Open the table view: If you are not alredy there, switch to the Table chart table view by clicking on the header icon.

  3. Add class codes and crew: In the NDOR column, select the entry by clicking on the table cell containing Class code and Crew. Dropdowns for each requried NDOR field will appear and all changes will be saved automatically.

  4. Adjust the total depth (optional): If needed, adjust the Total depth column to ensure it matches the Measured depth in the NDOR Time Codes module.

Export NDOR file from RigFlow

  1. Open the Export panel: On the Right sidebar navigate to Link - download Export and click on it to open the panel.

  2. Select NDOR Export: Open the Export type picker and select NDOR Export.

  3. Adjust the start and end dates: Use the Time.png date picker to specify the export's desired date and time range.

  4. Configure the export settings:

    • Decide whether to include comments.

    • Specify the number of decimal places for depths if more precision is needed.

    • Set the rounding for start and end times (default is 5 minutes).

  5. Export content: When ready, click the download file button. An Excel file will be downloaded to your downloads folder. You can open the file to review and, if necessary, adjust times, reword step titles, or delete any unnecessary comments. These adjustments can also be made directly in the NDOR Time Codes module.

Tip

Adjusting Times: If the exported times need to be fine-tuned, this can be done directly in the Excel file before importing it into NDOR.

Rewording Titles: Step titles may need to be modified to match the format required by NDOR, either in the Excel file or within NDOR itself.

Import the file into NDOR

  1. Upload the Excel file: In NDOR, navigate to the Time Codes module and select H56 Import. Once there, upload the Excel file you exported from RigFlow.

  2. Fill in missing information: Fill in any mandatory information that wasn't transferred during the export, such as the Rate Code and Fixed Text Remark.

  3. Make any final adjustments: Such as updating Trip numbers or rewording step titles.

  4. Double‑check the information: Confirm the entries to submit them and calculate the duration.

Tip

The import process can be repeated multiple times throughout the day, allowing different users (e.g., Day and Night driller) to import entries for their respective shifts.

Tips and tricks

  • Ensure that the NDOR Time Codes module only contains entries for one calendar day. Any entries from a different day should be deleted to avoid confusion.

  • Be mindful of the rounding settings in RigFlow. If multiple steps have durations shorter than the rounding interval, the start and end times may be the same, leading to zero-minute durations.
