Best practices for using comments
What are comments used for?
Comments are used for further clarification or description of a step; these comments will be added to the existing step entry in the operation report and will not have specific coding or duration.

Examples of appropriate comment use:
Details about bit grading.
Lineups or minor adjustments to operational steps within accepted criteria.
Observations of parameters (e.g., mud weight fluctuations).
Drop drift records.
Simple maintenance or repair jobs that take less than 15 minutes.
What comments should not be used for?
Logging time breakdowns such as flow checks, equipment changes, or any change or delay in the operation should be recorded as separate operational steps.
Examples of comment usage
Operational Note: "Stand 23. The connection was very tight to break."
Sensor Data: "Mud weight recorded as #MW 12.5 ppg."
Minor Maintenance Record: "Replaced shaker screen - took 10 min."
