Contingency plans in RigFlow are essential for maintaining operational continuity when primary plans encounter obstacles. These pre-approved plans provide alternative tasks, ensuring that operations can continue smoothly despite unexpected challenges.
Description of How It Looks
Contingency plans in RigFlow are identifiable by a specific icon next to their title.
They are managed similarly to regular plans but are highlighted with a specific icon for easy distinction.
Step-by-Step
Starting a Contingency Plan:
Global Action Bar:
Access the Global Action Bar.
Select how you would like to run the contingency.
Select the contingency plan you wish to start.
Contingency Tab:
Navigate to the Contingency tab.
Locate the relevant plan and step.
Click the
More menu on the step and press "As primary" or "As parallel" to initiate the contingency plan.
Execution:
Once initiated, the contingency plan moves into the “Execution” tab in the Plan Overview and operates like a normal plan.
The specific icon continues to indicate that it is a contingency plan.
Examples
Example 1: A pre-approved contingency plan may involve an alternative drilling path or additional stabilization procedures if the main drilling operation hits an unexpected obstacle.
