Which special characters should I avoid in filenames when uploading to the web?

Avoid using special characters like &, %, #, ?, :, ;, / , \, ", ', <, >, *, |. They can break links or cause upload errors.

Safe characters to use:

  • Letters: A–Z (uppercase), a–z (lowercase)

  • Numbers: 0–9

  • Symbols: hyphen -

Tip

Replace spaces with hyphens for clean, web-safe filenames.

What file types can I upload?

You can upload the following supported file types:

  • PDF documents: .pdf

  • Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png

  • Excel spreadsheets: .xls, .xlsx

Other file types like .docx, .txt, .zip, etc., are not supported. Always double-check your file extension before uploading.
