Insights
Insights in RigFlow are a powerful tool designed to capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities directly from the rig floor or onshore offices. They can be found in several places within RigFlow and support safety, efficiency, and communication across teams by allowing anyone with access to contribute meaningful feedback in real-time.

Insight Text Box: Designated area where you type your insight. Keep it short, clear, and focused on lessons learned or suggestions for improvement.
Attach files to insights: You can now include attachments when creating an insight. Click Add attachment and add the files. These files will be transmitted to RigBridge alongside the insight text. This feature is supported starting from RigFlow version 1.27 and RigBridge version 3.7.
Author Field (Optional): A space where you can enter your name if you want to identify yourself as the insight author.
Add an insight
Open the Insights panel: While reviewing a step or any part of the plan in RigFlow, click the
Insights button to open the Insights panel.Write your insight: In the text box, enter a short, clear message about what went well, what could be improved, or what should be changed.
Attach supporting files (optional): Upload an image or document by clicking the Add attachment button if it’s relevant to the insight you’re providing.
Enter your name (optional): If you like, you can type your name under Your name (Optional) to identify yourself as the insight’s author. This can help with follow-up.
Save the insight: Click the Add button. Your insight will become instantly visible to everyone have access to the plan.
Edit or delete Insights
View insights: Each step, activity, and plan displays an
Insights icon in the header if any insights already exist. Click the
Insights icon to open a list of available insights.Edit an insight: Just click on the insight text to open the insight edit panel, where you can edit the content. After you're done, click the Save button.
Delete an insight: To remove an insight, click the
Delete icon. Only the original author of the insight can perform this action.Confirm deletion: A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you want to delete the insight. Be aware that this action cannot be undone.
A driller suggested using a newer tool that made a job safer and more efficient. The insight led to a cost-benefit analysis, equipment purchase, and improved operations.
Offshore crew members use insights for feedbacks or improvments to the work instructions.
Confusing insights with comments: Use the comments field for operational comments; insights should focus on lessons learned or improvement opportunities.
Being vague: Specific, actionable observations are more useful than general statements.
Fear of feedback: Don’t hesitate to raise suggestions—Insights are designed for positive change, and management support is key.
Keep it clear and short: Use plain language that everyone can understand.
Make it relevant: Ensure your insight is directly related to the step or operation.
Act quickly: Don’t wait to write down an insight—capture it in the moment.
Use it for improvements: From safety to performance tweaks, all ideas are valuable.
