Using entries in WellNav
Entries in WellNav are used to log specific operational points or observations from the rig team along the wellbore. These entries help track equipment positions, notable depths, or other custom markers. Entries can be added, edited, or deleted as needed.
How it looks

Entries appear in both the Table View and Well View. Each entry includes depth information and may also include a description and/or a comment that links to the active step. Entries can be added through the
Add entry in the top navigation bar and managed via the
More menu on each entry in the Table View.
Step-by-step instructions
Create a new entry
Add an entry: Click the
Add entry icon in the top navigation of WellNav.Select entry type: Choose from the predefined entry types. These are grouped into Inside casing and Open hole.
If no type fits your situation, select Not defined.
Inside casing types are always visible, even if the current depth is beyond the open hole start point.
Open hole types are only shown once the depth is below the set open hole start point.
Enter depth information:
Input the Depth from value. The current bit depth is displayed for reference.
Optionally, enter a Depth to value if the entry applies to a depth range.
Add a description (optional): Enter any relevant notes or context.
Include as comment (optional): Check the box to Include as an operational comment on active step. This will attach the entry information as a comment on the currently active plan step.
Save the entry: Click the button Add entry. The new entry will now be visible in both the Table View and Well View.
Edit an entry
Locate the entry: Find the relevant entry in the Table or Well view.
Access the entry menu: Click the
More menu icon on the entry.Edit and save: Click
Edit, modify the depth, description, or comments, then click, then click
Save.
Delete an entry
Locate the entry: Find the entry to delete.
Access the entry menu: Click on the
More menu icon.Delete the entry: Click
Delete.Confirm deletion: Confirm that you want to delete the entry.
Note
Only entries created by the rig team can be deleted.
Examples
Marking the bit depth before tripping out.
Logging the top of cement as a reference.
Noting equipment locations like packers or casing shoes.
Tips and tricks
Use short, clear descriptions for faster identification in the Table view.
Double-check depth values, especially when using ranges.
Use Include as comment to tie an entry to the ongoing plan step.
