Using entries in WellNav

Entries in WellNav are used to log specific operational points or observations from the rig team along the wellbore. These entries help track equipment positions, notable depths, or other custom markers. Entries can be added, edited, or deleted as needed.

How it looks

Entries appear in both the Table View and Well View. Each entry includes depth information and may also include a description and/or a comment that links to the active step. Entries can be added through the Add Add entry in the top navigation bar and managed via the More More menu on each entry in the Table View.

Step-by-step instructions

Create a new entry

  1. Add an entry: Click the Add Add entry icon in the top navigation of WellNav.

  2. Select entry type: Choose from the predefined entry types. These are grouped into Inside casing and Open hole.

    • If no type fits your situation, select Not defined.

    • Inside casing types are always visible, even if the current depth is beyond the open hole start point.

    • Open hole types are only shown once the depth is below the set open hole start point.

  3. Enter depth information:

    • Input the Depth from value. The current bit depth is displayed for reference.

    • Optionally, enter a Depth to value if the entry applies to a depth range.

  4. Add a description (optional): Enter any relevant notes or context.

  5. Include as comment (optional): Check the box to Include as an operational comment on active step. This will attach the entry information as a comment on the currently active plan step.

  6. Save the entry: Click the button Add entry. The new entry will now be visible in both the Table View and Well View.

Edit an entry

  1. Locate the entry: Find the relevant entry in the Table or Well view.

  2. Access the entry menu: Click the Icon - more vertical More menu icon on the entry.

  3. Edit and save: Click Edit Edit, modify the depth, description, or comments, then click, then click Icon - send Save.

Delete an entry

  1. Locate the entry: Find the entry to delete.

  2. Access the entry menu: Click on the Icon - more vertical More menu icon.

  3. Delete the entry: Click Icon - delete Delete.

  4. Confirm deletion: Confirm that you want to delete the entry.
